This year, Mrs. Hurd's mathletes won the Highest Team Plaque for scoring in the top 10% of the nearly 4,000 teams who participated in Math Olympiads this year.
This is the fourth time that Mrs. Hurd's students have won the award in the ten years that she has participated in the contest. The class score is determined by the top ten scores. Students in the top ten this year were Taki, Emerson, Ava (not pictured), Sean, Connor, Griffin, Jacob, Yash, Max (a 5th grader, not pictured), and Robbie.
The top scorer this year was Taki, who correctly answered 23 out of 25 questions correctly. He earned a gold pin, along with Emerson and Ava who both correctly answered 22 questions. To get a gold pin a student must be in the top 2% of the over 102,000 students who participated. Sean and Connor earned silver pins for being in the top 10%.
