Grandfriends' Day is an annual event for first graders.
It is traditionally held on the Friday before the Memorial Day
holiday. Students drew portraits of their grandparents and wrote
similies which were on display in the library for the gathering. In
addition, students viewed a slide show with music and photos of their
grandparents. They performed 3 songs from their recent spring concert
and enjoyed snacks with their guests. For the the first time this year,
two first graders, whose grandparents could not attend, skyped their
grandparents and carried around an ipad so that the grandparents could
join in the festivities from afar.Lillian celebrates "Grandfriends' Day" with her two grandfathers, her grandmother, and her father. |
