JUNIOR SOLAR SPRINT Club - A Learning Lab Activity

posted Feb 23, 2015, 6:57 AM by Sarah Winne

Design and Build a solar powered car that will complete a race in the shortest possible time. Fridays during Learning Lab – March 6 into May in Mr. GR’s room (if you're in 6th grade) or Mr. Boardman's room (if you're in 5th grade). 7th and 8th graders should see Ms. Winne.

The school will provide some building materials, but students will be expected to bring in and use scrounged or recycled stuff for car bodies.

When the club ends, students will need to return motors, motor clips, alligator clips, battery packs, and solar panels, as these get re-used from year to year.

The school race will be in early May.  The top five school teams will be eligible to travel with their parents to compete at the State Championships, Saturday, June 6 in Owls Head.

See Mr. GR, Mr. Boardman, Ms. Hanna, or Ms. Winne for individual registration forms.
